District 22 is located in northern Maricopa County whose border with Yavapai County forms the district’s northern boundary. On the south the district is bounded by Peoria Ave. and on the east by 51st Ave. This district adjoins Legislative District 12 to the west with their common border in a sparsely populated area of western Maricopa County. The district includes all of Sun City West and portions of Surprise, Peoria and Glendale. Minorities represent 18.7 percent of the district’s total population and 14.4 percent of its voting age population.
